Biography:

Caitlin Donovan was sworn into the Belmar Council on June 13, 2023. 

As the official Council liaison to the Environmental Commission, Harbor Commission and Tourism Commission, Caitlin’s focus is on promoting Belmar’s thriving business community while also protecting and revitalizing its abundant natural resources. 

A nationally recognized advocate for patients, Caitlin has spent her career helping patients find the resources and assistance they need, particularly while dealing with a life-threatening diagnosis. Her work has led to the creation of new protections for patients, including against discrimination for pre-existing conditions and predatory billing practices.  

A Jersey Shore native, Caitlin is a graduate of Wall High School. She has completed graduate work at the Johns Hopkins University and has a bachelor’s degree with departmental honors in comparative politics from Brown University.

She and her husband, David, have three children. The older two attend Belmar Elementary School, while the youngest cannot wait to go there too.
