Our MissionThe Belmar Shade Tree Commission works to promote and provide to the Belmar community guidance for sustainable, healthy, safe trees and shrubbery, to facilitate and maintain safe corridors along roadways and facilities throughout the Borough of Belmar and educate and influence proper tree care and stewardship in the Borough of Belmar. The Belmar Shade Tree Commission has the distinction of being a Tree City USA community. |

Shade Tree Commission News, Events, Hints and Tips!Arbor Day 2024 Members of the Belmar Shade Tree Commission, assisted by Mayor Gerald Buccafusco and Councilwoman Maria Rondinaro celebrated Arbor Day with 4th Graders from both Saint Rose Elementary School and Belmar Elementary School. The 4th grade students learned about trees participating in an Arbor Day presentation, each student then received an official Junior Arborist Certificate, and with help from the Shade Tree Members planted white dogwood seedlings in both the Belmar Library Nursery and Belmar Elementary School Nursery.
Earth Day 2024 Shade Tree volunteers participated in Pyanoe Plaza Earth Day beautification. Down to Earth Landscaping in partnership with the Belmar Shade Tree Commission planted new trees, shrubs, and flowers to beautify and revitalize the Pyanoe Plaza The Belmar Shade Tree Commission wishes to notify Belmar residents that in the near future we will be conducting a hazardous tree stump survey. The survey is intended to identify tree stumps located within the planting strip that pose a hazard to the public. Tree stumps identified as hazardous as a result of the survey should be removed by the responsible property owner.
