Good afternoon, this is Chief Scott of the Belmar Police Department with an important announcement regarding the impending winter storm to arrive in our area.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for our area from 10:00pm Thursday January 6th until 10:00am Friday January 7th. The national weather service is reporting possible snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches with heavy bands of snow occurring at times, possible snowfall rates of 1” to 2” an hour and wind gusts of 20 mph to 35 mph are forecast for Friday.

If snowfall accumulates, vehicles must be removed from roadways as per borough ordinances for Belmar #19-10 and Lake Como #7-7.4.
