Beach Cleaning

The Belmar Department of Public Works provides safe, fast, and efficient beach cleaning 7 days a week throughout the summer season. We have daily Beach Crews in Gators seasonally from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm and additional Beach Crews cleaning the beach and street areas (when the time allotted down to B Street) from 6:00 am until 11:00 am. Our Beach Lavatories are open and attended from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm 7 days a week, weather permitting. Belmar Public Works also cleans the beaches daily throughout the summer season with a tractor mounted Bach Rake. By scooping and sifting out debris from the sand, this helps keep our beautiful beaches clean and free of seaweed, glass, shells, plastic, rocks, plus all sorts of debris and litter. Our Beach Rake has also been used to help clean up after Hurricane Sandy.
