Leaf Pickup

The purpose of the leaf collections program is to help alleviate the abundance of leaves that will cover the street and clog the storm drains. It is not intended to be a lawn service that ensures all your leaves will be collected from your lawn. We will do the best we can with one pass down your street.

Leaves are picked up, weather dependent, in October, November, and December.  This is a voluntary program, residents preferring to compost leaves or dispose of on their own property, may do so. Leaf pickup is subject to change. Residents should rake their leaves into the curb lanes for collection.

Public Works offers these tips for successful leaf collections:

  • Leaves must be raked and put into a pile curbside prior to collection.
  • Bagged leaves will not be accepted.
  • Please do not rake leaves into the roadway, as this obstructs drainage.
  • Do not put leaves in plastic bags - empty them into the curb lane. Leaves are composted but plastic bags do not decompose
  • Do not put any brush or branches in the leaf piles. Keep these items separate between the curb and sidewalk.
  • Keep piles 1' into the street, away from the curb. This helps ensure the equipment can collect all of the leaves and protects the equipment from being damaged.
  • Keep piles away from sewer grates, storm drains, and low hanging trees.
  • Consider mulching leaves in place as an alternative way to handle leaves on your property.
