Belmar Shade Tree Commission: Main Street Gets Greener!

This fall, the Belmar Shade Tree Commission launched the Main Street Tree Scape Improvement Program, bringing exciting changes to our community’s central avenue. Here’s what’s new:

• Fresh Plantings: In October we planted five new trees which now grace Main Street between 10th and 12th Avenues, adding shade and natural beauty to previously bare spots.
• Healthier Trees: Fertilizer spikes are being added to all Main Street trees to help them thrive. This effort will continue through Spring 2026.
• Eco-Friendly Upgrades: We’re testing environmentally friendly mulch mats to replace traditional mulch beds, making Main Street more attractive and easier to maintain.

Funded by the Belmar Shade Tree Commission, this initiative will continue into Spring and Summer 2026. We’re excited to see Main Street become greener, healthier, and even more welcoming for everyone in our community.
