NJ Division of Taxation Phishing Scam

There has been a recent uptick in the amount of text message and email scams throughout New Jersey. The New Jersey Division of Taxation will not initiate a text exchange to request personally identifiable information regarding individual income tax, business tax, or property tax relief benefits. If you get a text message or email claiming to be from the New Jersey Division of Taxation that asks you to verify banking information or to pay a tax due through a provided link, it is a scam. Do NOT click the link or share personal information.
