On Monday, October 26, 2015 United States Senators Robert Menendez and Corey Booker and United States Congressman Frank Pallone will join Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty to commemorate Belmar’s 3rd Anniversary of
Superstorm Sandy and cut the ribbon on the Roberts/Keefe home at 1002 14th Avenue in Belmar.
This event celebrates the conclusion of Mayor Doherty’s national campaign to raise the funding needed to bring home Belmar’s last two displaced families. In partnership with the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Rose, the initial fundraising goal of $200,000 was Breitling Replica Watches surpassed as donations of money, materials and labor poured in from around the country. Half of the donors contributed at the $50.00 level or lower illustrating the grass roots effort behind the campaign. Today over $240,000 has been donated and Belmar’s last two displaced families are returning home.

The Roberts/Keefe and Sperber families sustained significant damage to their homes during Hurricane Sandy and saw state and federal grant money for Sandy relief programs dried up or delayed while their home repairs continued to be ongoing and unaffordable. The stories of the Roberts and Sperber families hit home with people here in New Jersey and around the country. From a $2.00 donation from a donor in Chicago to a $5,000 donor from a woman in Illinois to platinum financial support from Ferreria Construction, D’Jais, Walmart and Maser Consulting; this was a labor of love and
dedication to bring our families home.
