Today, Mayor Matthew J. Doherty released the following statement in support of Jersey Central Power & Light’s (JCP&L) recent storm response.
“In the days leading up to the expected Blizzard, JCP&L communicated constantly with Belmar, sharing up to the minute weather updates and information on their storm preparations. We are all pleased that the expected Blizzard did not materialize, however the snow fall was not insignificant and power loss could have been extensive. In the early hours of the event, our First Aid building suffered power loss. JCP&L crews responded within minutes of our reporting the outage. They restored power and ensured that our first responders were taken care of.
When you consider the remarkable response of this past week compared with the challenges we experienced during Hurricane Sandy, I have nothing but praise for JCP&L and the changes they’ve instituted to better serve their customers tipreplicas.com. It was like dealing with a different company this time around and I applaud them for their efforts.”
