SUBJECT: November 2008 Monthly Highlights

Pursuant to NJSA 40A:14-118, the Chief of Police must report the monthly operation of the police force for the preceding month to the appropriate authority. This report is submitted concerning police operations during the month of November 2008. From a Department of Public Safety standpoint I have also included sections concerning first aid, the fire department and the November 2008 Belmar Beach Patrol report.

PRODUCTIVITY:

The Belmar Police Department responded to 1271 calls for service during the month of November 2008. Officers responded to and investigated 17 motor vehicle accidents, issued 12 Borough Ordinance Summonses, issued 108 Motor Vehicle Summonses, 17 adult arrests were made, 1 for DWI, and 0 juvenile arrests were made.

CRIME INFORMATION:

During the month of November 2008 we had 0 robberies; 2 assaults, 1 unfounded;

12 burglaries; 8 larceny thefts; 0 motor vehicle thefts.

PERSONNEL ISSUES:

During the month of November 2008 there were 10 sick days used by Regular Police and

0 sick days used by Dispatchers.

SCHOOLING:

Captain Thomas Palmisano and DO Larry Hahn attended a Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) training seminar on November 7, 2008, at the NJSP Technology Center, Hamilton, NJ.

Sergeant William Aker attended the Monmouth County Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Assocation (MCLEFIA) meeting on November 12, 2008, at the Monmouth County Police Academy.

PO Michael Campbell attended an Assault Rifle Instructor course from

November 17-21, 2008, at the Division of Criminal Justice Academy in Sea Girt, NJ.

BELMAR FIRST AID:

The Belmar First Aid Squad responded to 34 calls for service in the month of

November 2008.

BELMAR FIRE DEPARTMENT:

The Belmar Fire Department responded to 23 emergency calls in November 2008.
