March 2008 Report
April 15, 2008
TO: Mayor Kenneth E. Pringle
FROM: Chief Jack W. Hill, Jr.
SUBJECT: March 2008 Monthly Highlights
Pursuant to NJSA 40A:14-118, the Chief of Police must report the monthly operation of the police force for the preceding month to the appropriate authority. This report is submitted concerning police operations during the month of March 2008. From a Department of Public Safety standpoint, I have also included sections concerning first aid and fire department.
OPERATIONS:
On March 10, 2008, at 0700 hours, this department transferred over to New World Software as our database. This transfer enables wireless reporting and storage. It also enables silent dispatch to patrols equipped with mobile data terminals. As of the date of this report we are doing our standard report called an Operation Report and all criminal investigation reports with this software. In the next month we will put into effect prisoner processing, so by Memorial Day most of the standard functions are wireless and paperless.
In September it is our goal to introduce the property module which has bar coding capability for tracking evidence and other property. We also will transfer the Accident Report into the database as soon as the technology enables that function.
