SUBJECT: June 2008 Monthly Highlights
Pursuant to NJSA 40A:14-118, the Chief of Police must report the monthly operation of the police force for the preceding month to the appropriate authority. This report is submitted concerning police operations during the month of June 2008. From a Department of Public Safety standpoint, I have also included sections concerning first aid and fire department.
PRODUCTIVITY:
The Belmar Police Department responded to 1989 calls for service during the month of June 2008. Officers responded to and investigated 45 motor vehicle accidents, issued 503 Borough Ordinance Summonses, issued 1482 Motor Vehicle Summonses, 45 adult arrests were made, 3 for DWI, and 1 juvenile arrest was made.
CRIME INFORMATION:
During the month of June 2008 we had 2 robberies, 1 unfounded; 3 assaults, 2 unfounded; 28 burglaries, 16 unfounded; 51 larceny thefts, 12 unfounded; 1 motor vehicle theft.
PERSONNEL ISSUES:
During the month of June 2008 there were 7.5 sick days used by Regular Police and 2 sick days used by Dispatchers.

SCHOOLING:
Lieutenant Andrew Huisman and Sergeant William Aker attended an Update/Review of the Monmouth County Firearms Policy on June 19, 2008.
BELMAR FIRST AID:
The Belmar First Aid Squad responded to 85 calls for service in the month of
June 2008.
BELMAR FIRE DEPARTMENT:
The Belmar Fire Department responded to 16 emergency calls in June 2008.
