SUBJECT: January 2007 Monthly Highlights

Pursuant to NJSA 40A:14-118, the Chief of Police must at least monthly report the operation of the police force for the proceeding month to the appropriate authority. The below report is submitted concerning police operations during the month of January 2007. From a Department of Public Safety standpoint, I have also included sections concerning first aid, fire department and beach operations.

PRODUCTIVITY:

The Belmar Police Department responded to 1465 calls for service during the month of January 2007. Officers responded to and investigated 18 motor vehicle accidents; issued 4 Borough Ordinance Summonses; issued 89 Motor Vehicle Summonses; and 25 adult Arrests were made, 4 for DWI.

CRIME INFORMATION:

During the month of January 2007 we had 4 assaults, all cleared; 6 burglaries; and 12 thefts,

2 cleared.

PERSONNEL ISSUES:

During the month of January 2007 there were 5 sick days used by Regular Officers; and 7 sick days used by Dispatchers

SCHOOLING:

Officer Todd Lee attended a Grant Writing Workshop.

BELMAR FIRST AID:

The Belmar First Aid Squad responded to 36 calls for service in the month of January 2007.

BELMAR FIRE DEPARTMENT:

The Belmar Fire Department responded to 15 emergency calls in January 2007.
