SUBJECT: December 2008 Monthly Highlights
Pursuant to NJSA 40A:14-118, the Chief of Police must report the monthly operation of the police force for the preceding month to the appropriate authority. This report is submitted concerning police operations during the month of December 2008. From a Department of Public Safety standpoint I have also included sections concerning first aid, the fire department and the December 2008 Belmar Beach Patrol report.
PRODUCTIVITY:
The Belmar Police Department responded to 1311 calls for service during the month of December 2008. Officers responded to and investigated 13 motor vehicle accidents, issued 18 Borough Ordinance Summonses, issued 127 Motor Vehicle Summonses,
8 adult arrests were made, 1 for DWI, and 0 juvenile arrests were made.
CRIME INFORMATION:
During the month of December 2008 we had 1robbery; 6 assaults; 7 burglaries;
7 larceny thefts; 0 motor vehicle thefts.
PERSONNEL ISSUES:
During the month of December 2008 there were 20 sick days used by Regular Police and
1 sick days used by Dispatchers.
SCHOOLING:
Lieutenant Andrew Huisman attended ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents from December 15-17, 2008, and ICS-400: Advanced ICS – Command and General Staff – Complex Incidents on from December 18-19, 2008, at the Middlesex County Fire Academy.
BELMAR FIRST AID:
The Belmar First Aid Squad responded to 38 calls for service in the month of
December 2008.
BELMAR FIRE DEPARTMENT:
The Belmar Fire Department responded to 15 emergency calls in December 2008.
