Community Policing

The Borough of Belmar Police Department, is instituting a “Community Policing Initiative”.  Please click here for a map of the borough that, for the purposes of the Police Department, divides Belmar into four zones. Each zone will be assigned a squad of officers to be their community policing officers. Click on the zones to see the names of the officers assigned to that zone.

The officers, under the supervision of a sergeant, will provide communication between the department and citizens in problem solving and will ensure that matters are addressed in an efficient manner. The department has 21 full-time officers but grows to a force of 80 to 90 officers in the summer, with the addition of special police officers.
