Construction Permits

 
• A construction permit is not required for fences, however you must submit a Minor Land Use application for zoning review. Please see ordinance for rules:fence ordinance.doc Any questions, please contact the Zoning Office.

 

• Construction Permits: For a list of the most common types of permits and the required documents that need to be submitted please click here.  This list will describe the type of work and identify the forms that are needed.  ATTENTION: This is a list of the most common permits submitted.  If the work you are doing is not on this list please contact the Construction Department to see if a permit is required. BE ADVISED if you are found to be doing work without a permit FINES will be issued. These fines can range from $500 to $2,000.

Before submitting any applications please make sure that all forms are complete; including signatures, estimated costs, phone numbers, license numbers, description of work, contractor‘s signature and seal, etc.  If your application is not complete it will be returned to you. No exceptions!

Annual Backflow Testing Requirement: Letter from the Construction Official/Plumbing Sub Code Official

To obtain applications please call 732-681-3700 ext. 235 or stop in the office between 10 AM and 12 PM.  The Code Enforcement Office is at 601 Main Street, Belmar.  Please use the Sixth Avenue entrance.
