Municipal Court

The Belmar Municipal Court is located at 601 Main Street on the corner of 6th Avenue and Main Street. The entrance is located on the 6th Avenue side of the building. The hours of operation are from 9am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday (except holidays). If you have received a traffic summons which does not require a court appearance, you are now able to satisfy this fine by going to the NJMCdirect web site. This will require a valid Visa or MasterCard only. The fine must be paid no later than the court date listed on the bottom of the summons, or additional penalties will be assessed. At this time only traffic summonses may be paid online.

To enter a plea of NOT GUILTY, please call the court prior to the court date listed on the bottom of the summons. For a court required summons, please call the court to verify your court date.

The court is in session during the months of October – May at 1 pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. During the months of June – September, court is in session every Wednesday beginning at 1 pm. Judge Dennis Lavender is the presiding Judge and the Court Administrator is Ms. Kathryn Garrecht, CMCA.
