Tourism Commission

The Belmar Tourism Commission works to promote Belmar as a wonderful place to visit. Mercantile license holders and summer rental landlords pay a tourism fee.
By law, half of this money must be spent promoting Belmar outside the area.

The Tourism Commission uses a variety of methods to promote the borough and its
many treasures. Every year they:
  • Publish a shopping guide, restaurant guide, shopping bags and a brochure that are distributed at conventions and other high-visibility tourism locations.
  • Feature ads for Belmar in key publications.
  • Staff a Tourism Booth on the Belmar boardwalk open 7 days a week all summer to answer questions and offer literature to visitors.

The Tourism Commission also hosts a number of popular events, including this year’s 20th Anniversary New Jersey Seafood Festival, a  Sand Castle Contest, Friday Night Summer Concerts, and a Bobby Byrne concert in September.
In addition, the Commission gives start-up grants for other special events in the borough, such as the Annual Spring Fling (borough-wide garage sale, sidewalk sales and kite festival.)
