Matt Doherty – Mayor
Matt is a Financial Advisor with New England Financial (A MetLife
Company). Previously he was a Licensed Mortgage Banker and Owner of Doherty Mortgage, LLC located in Belmar.
He earned a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor’s Degree
from Georgetown University.
He is a Member of the New Jersey Commission on Aging; a Board Member for Cease Fire New Jersey; a Member of the Friendly Sons of
Shillelagh; a Member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians; and a trustee
for the Inlet Terrace Association in Belmar.
Matt is married to Maggie Moran and they have a two daughters, Hannah and Claire.
