The Belmar Marina has more than 70 dedicated transient slips available in sizes ranging from 25 feet to over 100 feet. These slips are located only two blocks from Belmar‘s busy downtown, and its numerous shops like West Marine, Taylor’s Hardware, Rite-Aid, Sunsations, Trendee Tees, Hanley’s Liquors, to name just a few. Belmar’s downtown also has a wide array of terrific restaurants offering casual to fine dining. The marina is only 7 blocks from Belmar‘s beautiful beaches, and a block from Belmar’s New Jersey Transit train station on the North Jersey Coast Line.

DIRECTIONS FROM SEA
The Belmar Marina is conveniently located one-third mile west of the mouth of the Shark River Inlet. The Inlet is marked by USCG buoy, “SI.” This is a lighted whistle buoy that is identified with red and white stripes and a red spherical topmark. (40 11 09 N; 74 00 03 W). Chart 12324, edition 31.
If your boat requires a bridge opening, simply hail the Ocean Avenue Bridge on Channel 13 and request a lift. The Ocean Avenue Bridge tenders have a well-deserved reputation for being friendly and helpful to mariners, especially those visitors who are unfamiliar with our port. The bridge opens on demand 24 hours a day, 12 months a year. In 2005 the inlet was dredged with a reported depth of 12 feet at mean low water. The inlet approach is on a maintenance dredging schedule with the Army Corp of Engineers and was dredged again in May of 2009.
Follow the inlet westward at no-wake speed past the USCG‘s Shark River Station, which will be on your right. Belmar is on your left. (Belmartians are very friendly, so don’t hesitate to wave.) The inlet widens approximately one-quarter mile to your left. The Highway 71 (Main Street) Bridge will lie ahead of you. Stay to the left of the inlet and proceed toward the bridge‘s bascule. The Highway 71 Bridge opens during the warm weather months on the half-hour, upon request at other times. The Highway 71 bridgekeeper can be hailed on Channel 13. Openings are sometimes briefly delayed by New Jersey Transit trains, which traverse a bridge two hundred yards to the west of the Highway 71 Bridge.
Just to the west of the NJ Transit Railroad Bridge is the new Highway 35 fixed span bridge. The bridge has a clearance of 50-feet at mean high tide. (Sailboats exceeding this mast height can anchor just east of the mid-span of the Highway 71 Bridge). After proceeding under the Highway 35 bridge, follow the channel as it turns sharply to the left. The Belmar Marina will be on your left, and extends one-half mile. The marina‘s floating fuel and pump-out dock will be located directly ahead of you at the end of a concrete pier. Boaters can fuel 24/7 with our Pay at the Pump credit car system, or our dock is staffed and open business during the summer from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays and 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Marina personnel can be hailed on Channel 16, then switch to Channel 9.
