The BHPC Wants You!!!

The BHPC Wants You!!!

Come join the fun and help maintain the proud history of Belmar! New members are always welcome! There is a lot to do. We need your help managing the wealth of historical documents, preserving historical items, creating rotating displays for the Borough Hall lobby, and attending fun events such as the Spring Tea and autumn’s Antiques-By-The-Atlantic.

Invest in Belmar to preserve its history and inspire public support by sharing Belmar’s past. The BHPC meets on the second Tuesday of every month in the Meida Room of the Belmar Library. Come attend one of our meetings or call Pat O’Keefe at 732 681-0732 for further information.

Join with us to Preserve Belmar’s History! Belmar has an amazing history and is proud of the contribution residents have made to our town and our world. The BHPC has accepted the task of restoring, preserving and acquiring Belmar sites and materials.

For example, through the work of the BHPC, the World War I Doughboy statue at Doughboy Park and the World War II Monument on Main Street has been restored and the Malta Mast base on Ocean Avenue was repaired. These initiatives were made possible by matching grants from the Monmouth County Historical Commission and the sale of personalized brick pavers. Individuals or businesses who would like to purchase a brick paver may obtain an application at Borough Hall or by calling 732-681-0732.
