Summer Socials Music & Dancing at Taylor Pavilion

The 2010 summer social’s held at Taylor Pavilion will start July 1st from 8pm till 10pm. The social’s will be held every Thursday in July and August. There is no charge so put on your dancing shoes and bring a friend to 5th and Ocean ave.

Monday night concerts will start July 5th at 8pm and will be held every Monday in July and August. The concerts will be held at the Taylor Pavilion (500 Ocean Ave. ) and are free to all. Enjoy the music and have a great summer!

New/Used DVDS for our Armed Forces

Belmar Recreation is collecting DVDs for our Service men and women stationed at Kandahar Afghanistan. In their down time it is a great distraction to be able to check out a movie from a video library and dream of being somewhere else. For these brave men and women who sacrifice so much,  we would love to be able to assist them in building the DVD library. Any and all movies will be accepted and sent to Kandahar in care of the USMC. The DVDs will be accessible to all service personnel assigned to that base. If you have some movies that you just don’t use or wish to purchase some for the cause,  Please drop them off at the Belmar Gym at 601 Main Street or call Mike Campbell and I can pick them up if that helps. 732-681-3700 dial 9 then 211

Belmar Stories – a Visual and Performing Arts Show

The Belmar Arts Council invites your participation in its next summer art show, Belmar Stories.  Belmar Stories is a visual and performing arts show centered around your personal history, experiences, and memories of Belmar.  Your art may include photography, poetry to be read on stage, paintings, collages of memorabilia, music, and video.  Art intake is Saturday, August 1, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Belmar Arts Council located at 608 River Road (7th Ave & the railroad tracks).  Entry fee is $10 per piece for members and $15 per piece for non-members.  Details can be found online at www.BelmarArts.org or by calling (732) 749-3360.
