The meeting agenda will include a workshop meeting with the regular meeting immediately to follow. This schedule shall replace the previously published scheduled. The meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of every month except in November and December.

The Shark River Bridge along Ocean Avenue between Belmar and Avon-by-the-Sea will be closed Thursday, Jan. 26, beginning at 10 p.m., and lasting three to four hours, the release says.

Bridge inspections are required by the state Department of Transportation every two years, as part of the state’s Movable Bridge Inspection program and the state DOT’s National Bridge Inventory Standards program, the release says.

The Annual Chinese New Year dinner will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 5 pm at the Belmar Library, 517 10th Avenue. This will be the year of the Dragon so decorations will reflect the Dragon Year.

We’ll be serving spring rolls, chicken, pork and beef specialties, fried rice and for dessert, of course, fortune cookies. We’ll expect people to try chop sticks but for the unhandy we’ll also have forks!

The dinner is free but space is limited so attendees must call or stop in the library to reserve a seat. We are located at 517 10th Ave. and the phone is 732-681-0775.
