Environmental Commission

Mission
To advise and assist the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Belmar on environmental issues, to act as liason between the Borough government and residents, and to help protect and foster appreciation of local natural resources.
Who We Are
The Belmar Environmental Commission (BEC) is a seven-member body appointed by the Belmar Borough Council. The commission was created to focus on environmental issues and opportunities that impact Belmar, its residents and many visitors. We try to advise local government and inform residents on environmental issues, laws and programs. And, as members of the official municipal family, we work to protect the public’s quality of life by protecting the environment.
