DON’T FORGET TO COMPLETE A 2010 CENSUS FORM

BEAT THE CLOCK – AVOID THE KNOCK
COMPLETE A 2010 CENSUS FORM NOW.
The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years.
The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds each year for things like:
- Hospitals
- Job training centers
- Schools
- Senior centers
- Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
- Emergency services
The data collected by the census also help determine the number of seats your state has in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In March of 2010, census forms were delivered to every residence in the United States and Puerto Rico. Just answer the 10 short questions and then mail the form back in the postage-paid envelope provided. If you don’t mail the form back, you may receive a visit from a Census Taker, who will ask you the questions on the form.
Title 13 of the U.S. Code protects the confidentiality of all your information and violating this law is a crime with severe penalties. In addition, other federal laws, including the Confidential Statistical Efficiency Act and the Privacy Act reinforce these protections.

Mayor’s Wellness Campaign Spring Food Drive
April 15, 2010 by admin

The MWC is once again collaborating with The Belmar Council of Churches in sponsoring a food drive to replenish the pantries in our local churches. While we will gladly take any non-perishable food items that are properly packaged and unopened, there are specific items that have been requested. They are: canned meats, canned soups, canned fruit, canned pasta dinners, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter and jelly. We ask that no glass containers be donated for obvious reasons. Two baskets for collections have been placed in the lobby at borough hall, and there is a collection receptacle at the public library on 10th Ave.
