Resident Spruces Up Highway 35 “Welcome to Belmar Sign”

Belmar resident Jane Anne DiEllo, a member of the Belmar Beautification Committee, planted these flowers at the base of the “Welcome to Belmar” sign, which greets visitors entering Belmar on Highway 35 at 16th Ave. This project completed a three-phase round of flower-planting under the auspices of the Beautification Committee’s “Belmar’s Blooming” campaign. The other two projects were the Roundabout at 6th Ave and C Street, and the Belmar Girl Scouts project at the Lifeguard Boat planter at the Ocean & 1st Ave corner of Schroeder Park. The Beautification Committee is also sponsoring its summer-long Blossom Extravaganza flower-planting campaign for residents and local businesses.
